AHLI FINTECH, the financial technology and innovation accelerator, venture-studio arm, and fully owned subsidiary of Jordan Ahli Bank, in partnership with the Crown Prince Foundation, celebrated the successful finish of the second edition “AHLI FINTECH Hackathon” at a ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel. The event saw the presence of Mr. Saad Mouasher, Chairman of Jordan Ahli Bank; Dr. Ahmad Al-Hussein, Chairman of AHLI FINTECH and CEO/General Manager of Jordan Ahli Bank; and Ms. Rawan Khoury, Head of Communications at the Crown Prince Foundation. The ceremony also included numerous university presidents, representatives, and participating students.
The hackathon witnessed wide-ranging participation from twelve Jordanian universities, which includes Princess Sumaya University for Technology, the University of Jordan, Al-Hussein Technical University, Jordan University of Science and Technology, Al-Balqa Applied University, the German Jordanian University, the American University of Madaba, the Hashemite University, Yarmouk University, Middle East University, Amman Ahliya University, and Applied Science University.
Participating teams presented their projects to a judging panel composed of representatives from AHLI FINTECH and the Crown Prince Foundation. Finalists were selected to proceed to the AHLI FINTECH Incubator Program. This program aims to support the development, testing, and refinement of their fintech solutions.
Finalist teams will receive support through access to co-working space, mentorship, and guidance in presenting their solutions to the AHLI FINTECH Investment Committee. They will also have the opportunity to be selected for the AHLI FINTECH Accelerator Program, that supports startups with up to $200,000 in funding to help launch and scale their ventures.
In a statement, Dr. Ahmad Al-Hussein, Chairman of AHLI FINTECH and CEO/General Manager of Jordan Ahli Bank, expressed pride in the exceptional caliber of the projects submitted by participating teams. He also extended his gratitude to the presidents of the participating Jordanian universities and the Crown Prince Foundation for their active support, emphasizing their vital role in the success of the competition.
He also praised the role universities play in providing effective platforms for Jordanian youth and equipping them with the skills needed to participate in initiatives that bridge the gap between education and the labor market, ultimately contributing to the growth of the national economy.
Ms. Rawan Khoury, Head of Communications at the Crown Prince Foundation, expressed the Foundation’s satisfaction with the program’s success. She highlighted their strong commitment to youth development, noting efforts to provide opportunities that enhance competitiveness and equip young people with essential skills for today’s job market, especially in the fintech sector. She added that the partnership with AHLI FINTECH supports national efforts to build a knowledge-based, digital economy.
